Rules and regulations
Below are some high level rules for volleyball that must be adhered to for Capital League Volleyball games:
1. Each team is allowed a maximum of three touches to return the ball over the net.
2. The ball must be hit over the net and into the opposing team's court within three touches.
3. A player is not allowed to hit the ball twice in a row, except when blocking.
4. Points are scored when the ball hits the ground within the opposing team's court or when the opposing team commits a fault.
5. A team must win a set by at least two points, with sets typically played to 25 points.
6. Players must rotate positions on the court in a clockwise direction each time their team wins the serve.
7. A player is not allowed to touch the net during play.
8. Substitutions can only be made when the ball is dead.
